How to Make a Rustic Sign from Paint Sticks – Part Four – Christmas Sign

To celebrate Christmas in July, I wanted to share a Christmas version of my easy paint stick sign! This sign is super easy to make and can be done without a cutting machine.

If you have been following along with the blog, I recently shared how to make an incredibly easy and inexpensive rustic sign base using 10 paint sticks and a few other materials. To see how to make the sign base, check out the tutorial by clicking here.

For this Christmas version, I started by painting the base of my sign with Waverly Inspirations chalk paint in Elephant. I then wrapped the sign with twine on each side to cover up the gaps left by the paint stick handles.

To decorate this sign, I painted a small wood ornament that I had picked up at a craft store last winter. It is painted with red glittery paint to add a little bit of sparkle. I then embellished the sign with some aritificial red poinsettias, artificial pine, and artificial holly. I also include a small pine cone that was on the pick with the artificial pine.

This was a really quick and easy sign to make, and it could be personalized in so many ways! You could easily pick a letter ornament to create a monogramed sign or even put a picture in the center and decorate around it. The possibilities are endless!

I hope you like this sign and are inspired to make your own paint stick sign! If you have any questions or feedback, I’d love to hear from you in the comments below.
